Wise Beyond His Years

22 Apr

Last night my 11 year old asked me how many times I had ‘been dumped.’ I assume he was thinking about this after being shot down by little miss ‘who knows, maybe you’ll get your chance.’ I thought about it and told him I have been ‘dumped’ LOTS of times, and probably even more than that because I blocked out some and I told him that I don’t regret a single one and that I learned from every single one and that it hurt for a while but life goes on and that being ‘dumped’ isn’t necessarily a bad thing  and he stopped me and said ‘I know, because that person just wasn’t the right person, like you and dad. You’re better friends and parents than married people.’

Damn, the kid’s sharp.
